‎Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle Applauds Gov. Abiodun As Sabo–Itanrin Road Reconstruction Gains Momentum In Ijebu-Ode

‎Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle has commended the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, CON, for the ongoing reconstruction of the Sabo–Itanrin Road in Ijebu-Ode, describing the project as a major step toward improving infrastructure, connectivity, and economic growth within the region.

‎The reconstruction work on the strategic roadway, currently being executed by the Ogun State Government, has continued to record steady progress since construction commenced earlier this year. The project has successfully completed key preliminary phases, including topsoil removal and road scarification, paving the way for the current earthworks stage of development.

‎In addition to the road formation works, drainage channels are being constructed along both sides of the road to ensure effective water management and prevent erosion or flooding that could compromise the durability of the roadway. These drainage structures are expected to enhance the long-term sustainability of the project while providing improved environmental resilience for surrounding communities.

‎Speaking on the significance of the project, Otunba Alowonle praised Governor Abiodun for his administration’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural renewal across the state. He noted that the Sabo–Itanrin Road reconstruction is a testament to the government’s resolve to prioritize projects that directly impact the welfare, mobility, and economic opportunities of the people.

‎According to him, the road serves as a vital corridor linking the bustling township of Ijebu-Ode—particularly the area around the Central Mosque—with the major Sagamu–Benin Expressway. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly ease transportation for residents, traders, and commuters traveling between Sagamu, Odogbolu, and other neighboring communities.

‎Otunba Alowonle further emphasized that improved road infrastructure remains critical to stimulating commerce, reducing travel time, enhancing road safety, and fostering overall socio-economic development. He added that the reconstruction would greatly improve access to markets, schools, religious centers, and businesses within the axis.

‎He therefore expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun for what he described as visionary and people-centered leadership, noting that projects like the Sabo–Itanrin Road are clear indicators of an administration committed to sustainable development and inclusive growth across Ogun State.

‎Otunba Alowonle also urged residents and road users to cooperate with contractors and exercise patience while construction continues, assuring that the temporary inconveniences will ultimately yield long-term benefits for the entire community.

‎He concluded by reaffirming his confidence that the successful completion of the project will further strengthen connectivity within the Ijebu axis, stimulate local economic activities, and contribute significantly to the broader developmental agenda of the state government.
